Sterling Heights is the fourth-largest city in Michigan and the center of gravity for Macomb County weddings. Most days here follow a shape we know well: a morning of getting ready close to home, a ceremony at a parish that has married three generations of the same family, and a banquet hall off the Hall Road corridor that does not go quiet until well after midnight.
It is a city of big, close families, with some of the largest Chaldean, Albanian, Italian and Polish communities in the country. That shapes the photography. A Sterling Heights wedding is rarely a tidy eight-hour event with forty guests.
