Troy is one of the most affluent and most international cities in Michigan, and its weddings show it. Between the hotels along Big Beaver, the corporate campuses and the large Chaldean, Assyrian, Indian and Chinese communities, a Troy guest list often spans several countries and more than one ceremony tradition.
That variety is the reason we work the way we do. A wedding that includes a religious ceremony in the morning, a civil or cultural ceremony in the afternoon and a reception at night is not an unusual request here, it is a Saturday. It needs a photographer who has planned that kind of day before and is not going to be surprised by the second ceremony.
For portraits, the Troy Historic Village gives you 19th-century buildings and mature grounds in the middle of the city, and the Stage Nature Center offers woodland without a drive. Both are minutes from the Big Beaver hotels, which keeps the schedule honest.
