Ferndale is the most creative small downtown in the metro area, and its weddings are the least traditional we photograph. Couples here are more likely to want a bar, a gallery or a converted space than a ballroom, and more likely to skip the parts of a wedding day that do not mean anything to them.
That suits how we work. If you do not want a bouquet toss, a garter, or forty minutes of posed family groups, none of that has to happen. What we care about is the actual day: your people, the room, and the hours that go faster than you expect. Everything else is optional.
Ferndale is also one of the most openly LGBTQ-friendly communities in Michigan, and we photograph every couple the same way. No assumptions about who is getting ready where, no gendered shot list, no template. The Woodward and Nine Mile corner, the murals through the side streets and the neon after dark give the city a look that is unmistakably its own.
